Bobcat

By Jim Campbell

Bobcat is a historically based action-frontier fiction about a Quapaw Native American whose extended family is murdered. After avenging the deaths, he feels his life has been disrupted forever so he decides to travel west to sit atop the tallest white capped mountain to contemplate his life. He is hunted and the hunter, as along the way he meets free-roaming plains tribes whose ways are changing, as horses and French/American factory trade goods reach them. He finds the pueblo mountain tribes farther west trade only with Spain. Their homelands invaded, some people fight, some hide and some change a little.
